Change is scary. Letting go of what we know. Giving up comfort zones and safe spaces to reach out over the abyss and leap to a new ledge… exciting, yes, discombobulating - very.
Whenever change comes for me, I begin a routine that has served me well.
First comes FAITH…
I KNOW this change is right for me because it’s rattling my window frames gently, asking to be let in. It’s whispering from the inside out too. Letting me know that this change is not one I can choose, not really. It’s my path. And even though it’s completely new, there is a spark of soul recognition there, and a ‘knowing’; this is where your feet must fall next.
Next comes RELEASE…
To be at ease with this life and it’s revolutions we must release to the flow. We must let go of trying to steer the ship to a pre-drawn out map, and instead, listen for the winds that guide - look for the moon and her signs. Be led by the intuition that connects you to all that lives. There is no rule-book, only a thread that stitches this earth to each of us and occasionally pulls us one way or another. Allow it to do so. It’s where the magic is.
Then comes ACCEPT…
Nothing new will immediately fit, or soothe. There is a period of adjustment, like breaking in new shoes, where the universe and the day-to-day work together to create a way of being. It can bring up old versions of ourselves we thought we had laid to rest and it can show us rough parts of self we thought we had smoothed into submission. This is temporary. Accept. Let the feelings visit and open the window when you feel it’s time for them to leave. Change should feel as though your life is in disarray. It’s supposed to. It will settle. All things do.
Breathe through the chaos and firmly fix your heart and mind on what you know, love.
Everything will be okay.
Everything will be okay.
And soon, when the settling has occurred, you will open your eyes to a new dawn that sparks some deep satisfaction within you… you are where you are supposed to be.
Everything is okay.
WINDS OF CHANGE A wind of change blew in last night rattling window frames reminding all who felt its blast that nothing stays the same This wind it whipped up frenzy an air of dread and fear as it swooped up all the status quo and dropped it far from here It tore apart my comfort zone which took me time and toil it whisked away my safety net and razed my home to soil As the new dawn spread its light across this barren scene it hurt to breathe the fresh new air so fearful I have been But winds of change don’t fly alone they travel in a crowd the knowing from our ancestors their instincts, screaming loud The memories of past times we flew when ground was whipped away our wings that caught us many times grow stronger every day And winds of change bring bright new light and keys to unlock doors that hide our vast reserves of strength when we need to find some more So let it go, flow with the wind don’t face against her power these winds they know, to move, is life that’s how a garden flowers Take time to settle, like the seeds that soar around the air your time to rise comes soon enough dig deep, you will get there.
My first ever daily guided journal releases Nov 28th, will you be joining me for this in 2025? I would love you to!
